From Lancaster: Follow signs for Trough of Bowland and Dunsop Bridge. When you arrive in Dunsop Bridge (passing the church, school and village hall) don’t turn left towards the village itself, but go right/straight ahead at the junction and then take your first left up a small track signed ‘Root Hill Estate Yard’.
From Longridge: Leave Longridge with the Alston Arms on your left. Stay on this road for around three miles until you come to a sharp left hand bend with white railings; turn right here. After around one mile, turn left and when you come to the T-junction turn right. Take the next left signed towards The Inn at Whitewell. You’ll pass the Whitewell on your left after about three miles. Stay on this road, over Burholme Bridge, past Inch Perfect Trials, over the small bridge with white railings, and take your next right up a track signed ‘Root Hill Estate Yard’.
From Clitheroe: Drive out of Clitheroe on the B678 and straight through Waddington. Pass The Higher Buck on your right and drive up and over Waddington Fell, arriving in Newton. Turn left just after The Parkers Arms and drive for two and a half miles towards Dunsop Bridge. When you arrive in the village with the tearoom/post office on your right, head over the bridge and up the hill past the war memorial. Follow this road around to the left and take your first left up a track signed ‘Root Hill Estate Yard’.
